Day Camps
Outdoor adventures/education, arts, science, sports, crafts, games, friends, fun and more make this program the best of summer experiences for youth grades 1-12! Participants explore a wide variety of activities throughout the summer, based on an exciting weekly theme. Our traditional 8:1 ratio provides great opportunities for them to master new skills, build friendships and grow. This is quality summer programming at its best, keeping youth engaged all day long! You will find that there are so many licensed programs to choose from. With multiple drop sites and flexible hours, our camps offer adventures all summer long.
Hantesa Day Camp - (entering grades 1-8)
Get the Hantesa Experience at this amazing day camp! Campers travel to Camp Hantesa each day to explore the outdoors and participate in a variety of games, crafts, swimming and much more. Campers will come away knowing more about the fun of camp. Drop off locations for Hantesa Day Camp are Camp Fire Service Center, Camp Canwita, Camp Hantesa, and Edgewood Park.
Camp Discovery - (entering grades 1-6)
At Camp Discovery, campers explore the fun of the great outdoors, science, art, games and more! There are weekly themes designed to enrich young minds all while they have fun swimming, going on field trips and making lasting friendships. Camp Discovery offers a variety of activities for every camper to discover. Drop off locations for Camp Discovery are Camp Fire Service Center, St Augustin School, and Ankeny OLIH Church.
Camp Outrageous - (entering grades 6-9)
Camp Outrageous offers new experiences and challenges for older campers by making the most of their summer with exciting activities and action packed days. Campers spend time with experienced staff members swimming, climbing, hiking, and completing ropes courses and team building activities. They also get the opportunity to encounter things such as paintballing, orienteering, archery, canoeing, and so much more. Get "outrageous" with us, and make it a summer to remember! Drop off locations for Camp Outrageous are Camp Fire Service Center, St Augustin School, and Ankeny OLIH Church.
Camp Canwita - (entering grades 1-6)
Historic Camp Canwita in Ames, north of Innes Grove park, is home to outstanding summer day camp programs! Amazing staff, unique programming and a fantastic property bring Ames area families back summer after summer. This year, join the summer tradition of friends, field trips, swimming and non-stop fun! Drop off location for Camp Canwita is Camp Canwita.
Equestrian Day Camp - (entering grades 4-12)
Riding day camp offers one hour English riding lessons and instruction in horse management each day. Campers also participate in swimming and other traditional summer camp activities that make this camp a unique and fun way to spend summer days. Riding lessons depend on day to day weather conditions. Drop off locations for Riding Day Camp are Camp Fire Service Center,Camp Canwita, Camp Hantesa, and Edgewood Park.

Pioneer Columbus Community Day Camp - (entering grades 1-6)
Campers experience a week long day camp full of games, crafts, hikes, swimming, sports, nature activities, special events and lots of FUN! Other possible activities include field trips and special guest speakers. A portion of each week will also include fun, interactive literacy based activities. Campers are encouraged to help plan some of the activities with the counselors. Drop off locations for Community Center Day Camps are Pioneer Columbus Community Center and Four Mile Community Center.

Campers experience a week long day camp full of games, crafts, hikes, swimming, sports, nature activities, special events and lots of FUN! Other possible activities include field trips and special guest speakers. A portion of each week will also include fun, interactive literacy based activities. Campers are encouraged to help plan some of the activities with the counselors. The drop off location for Riverview Community Day Camp is Harding Middle School.
